The E-string is tin plated and seems similar to the tim plated E that was released for the Dominant set recently.
The feeling of these strings makes me think of a high quality synthetic. They remind me of a Vision string feeling thin under the fingers but not high tension. The tension is very similar to Dominant strings and would not choke an instrument that prefers strings with a lighter tension.
Tone
The tone is on the brighter side, but nothing that you would normally expect form a "student" string. The complexity is not as rich as you might expect from an Infeld or Dominant string. The Clarity of sound is a nice change from some of the very rich strings I have tested lately.
Projection
Don't expect these to be your string of choice if you plan to play over a full orchestra. They are not dull by any means and the E string does sing very well but I feel that they have mellowed out my instrument more than given it a boost.
Conclusion
I would say they are a good choice for anyone looking for a cleaner and brighter synthetic string. do not see any reason to not recommend these to a student or professional looking to experiment.

Durability
One of the advantages of steel is its durability and resistance to atmospheric changes, but Alphayue strings combine this strength with the feel and playability of synthetic for a superior sound than traditional steel strings. Their lighter tension and supple feel make them a fantastic choice for student instruments as they're easier to play as well. The composition is as follows:
- E-string: tin plated steel
- A-string: Aluminum over a synthetic core
- D-string: Aluminum over a synthetic core
- G-string: Silver over a synthetic core
The composition of the strings provides long-lasting staying power so that as a student, you won’t have to spend an excessive amount of your practice time re-tuning your violin.
Projection
Student violinists are often saddled with poor projection. And although the problem often stems from improper bow holds or an instrument that needs adjustments, the strings affect the amount of projection too. This Alphayue set won’t help your violin sound soar over an entire orchestra, but the ease of playability and clear tones generate good projection and help students develop the bowing skills that will benefit their playing in the future.
